Okay. no more OOCing, I think. This is turning into the planning blog. Which I think I like.
Back to the killer.
Working on motive here and The How here.
What's the conncetion to betwqeen the kiler and the victims? Maybe s/he is someone who had family who worked in the mines and when ther was some sort of accident (I don't know what kind yet) s/he created something that would prevent it from happening again, because it killed a lot of people and his/her famil and friends were at risk.
S/he presented it to the shareholders after the accident had happened a second time. (There had been a lot of stuff on the news with the spokes person say things like "if there'd been anyway to prevent it...working in the mines is a risk, yes) (Maybe those who work in the mines are a certain kind of people...with some kiln f special ability?) Anyway they reject the idea, as it would cost them money and would no t be profitalbe to them to save lives. (Workes were literally a dime a dozen or something.) Some of the share holders were for the change, and the ones that were against it get killed.
I want the chain of victims to spread wide, to those that s/he thinks are responsible.
They'll be kidnapped and they'll end up in parks and gardens all over the place. No calls, no threats, no blackmail. Just the bodies.
But how to kidnap that many people? And what to do with them? And how does one person accomplish it? Maybe the kidmappings were spread out over time? It has to appear at least a little random as far as the victimsd go, but once she has them all, the killings start....but how does one person do it?
~OOC: Planning
Yeah. That last entry is pretty much going to be "Always in Progress". Deal with it.
I'm in the middle of creating a new detective-like character. Male. Very male. Don't know much about him yet. Or where he is, though I know it's not this one. He's kinda of popping up in spurts. My mind seems very insistant that he be written...so here I am.
One of the things that I know for sure is that he's tracking a serial killer.
So...I'm gonna let my mind wander about the killer:
Okay. Idea for a serial killer. Need a motive. Maybe something to do with a garden. Maskeing robberies, maybe?
Hmmm... Want it to have something to do with the statues in the middle of the center of the gardens, so I guess we're dealing with rich people here.
nevermind. I want a murdering duo. Two people. Brother and sister, maybe? Nah. That's cliche...But I know I want a guy and a girl doing the murders at different times. It'll throw the cops off.
The scene of the first crime'll be discovered in the middle of the day. The main character cop'll make an obvesrvation about the contrast. The peace of the bright sunny day, the blood streaked all over the dark green of the leaves. It'll be a greusome scene. But where is the body...?
Back to the motive. Maybe there's something in all of the statues in the gardens that they want. Maybe they're lovers...or business partners. I like lovers. And jealousy. The chick is very in love and very smart and very, very, jealous. But murder has to be personal, doesn't it? It does for it to be as brutal as it's going to be.
There has to be a connection between the victims and the killers...a connection...a connection...
I know that I want there to be something to do with the order of the satatues and different parts of them. The guy'll be into the killings for the revenge. The girl? The thrill, maybe.
Victims...the victims are going to be all races, ages, and genders. Do I want them raped, is a question...Stabbed, definitely. maybe bludgeoned when the guy does it.
A calling card...a calling card...
Or maybe I can have the killings be a sort of revenge for...maybe workers getting killed in a mine. Maybe the owners were cheap on the equipment and people died in an accident that shouldn't have happened.
Myabe the joint owners are getting stalked now. Or theire families are.
I can see it. Maybe the scenes of the crime are mirrored after paintings done by a really old artist of this civilization. The bodies are layed out and posed around gardens. Dressed in periond clothes.
But who? Who are the victims?
Picture the scene where he visits the scene of the first crime...
Bright sunny day...He's in the park. There's a square enclove...set off by squared short cropped hedges on all sides. The body of a little girl is laying face down on a stone bench far off next to the left wall. She's dressed in a (period dress-- whatever that was in their history--don't know yet). Her right arn is draped over the side or the slab barely brushing the soft blades or grass. Her face is bruise and cut, so is her arm (though maybe that's been wrapped in some sort of flimsy gauze) There is a trail of blood dripping onto the grass from a pool of it that has congealed under her neck and around the edges of her face and mouth (which is slightly open) There is no other disturbance in the grotto. No blood, no broken branches--nothing.
I guess from there, I'll go onto the normal (whatever that is for him) policing procedures. And have an art expert (female--tons of fun. Personalities--of course--clash) be pulled in to see if the origin of the painiting can give some clues. Then the other murder happens.
Sounds like a good start. I like the painting idea best, I think. Now I just have to start writing it.
~OOC: --in progress. Only saved so that pitas doesn't eat it.
Okay. as much as I hate having to explain myself and as tired as I am of saying it, I can't write fiction. Not at all. I suck at it.
But I do. Because I like to. I have my own characters running around in my head along with their various plots (which can be corny or cliche or whatever you choose to call them) Mostly I write for me, because it's relaxing. And some of the stuff I write, I write because I want to have stories to make up for my kids one day when I have them.
I don't write for you. I don't write for your commentary. I don't write for your opinions or your praise or your criticism. I just write.
About a year ago, I lost all of my art and writing in both electronic and hard copy format. So we're talking over a decade of backstory just lost. I'm trying to rewrite the pertinant parts of some of my character's pasts, but it tends to be irritating, because it holds me back in some ways. It's also great, because it gives me a chance to change the way that I wrote it up. But the little day to day stories and little musing snippets are gone. Since some of these people were born when I was just a child, their stories start out pretty simple. And I plan on keeping it that way. To a point. I can up the violence on Ocea's part a tad bit...because I can. When I was a little kid I was loathe to have a bad guy at all, let alone one who was really evil and tormented my "friends". I have a few less qualms about it now. I am still, however, a sucker for a happy ending and, thus, write them.
My characters do not all exsist in the same world. Many of the stories you'll see here will take place on a world that has no name, but I refer to as Redja'le. This world has it's own language, but (duh) most of the writing is in English, with a few words thrown in here and there. The names of the characters on this world are a bit strange. The
Test
This is a test. Because I want to be lazy. If this works, there will be real entries later.
